Do I need to be unemployed to qualify?
With few exceptions, you must be either unemployed or currently receiving unemployment benefits to qualify. If you think you may have an exception, please call us at: (806) 345-1340.
Do I need to meet any basic requirements?
Yes, you must meet certain basic requirements. Some (not all) requirements are listed below
- No DUI or DWI in last 7 years
- No more than 1 DUI or DWI in total
- No moving violation in the last 3 years
- Certain criminal history may prevent eligibility for training assistance
What will I have to pay for?
We have paid for the entire class and the books.
There are required costs, but if you are in need of assistance we can work with you to provide support based upon your individual circumstances.
We ask that you pay:
$6.50 — Type 2 – 3 Year Driving Records from TxDPS $6.50
$25.00 — Commercial learner permit fees
$120.00 (average) — Drug screen and physical
PLEASE NOTE: As stated above, we will work with each potential student on an individual basis to determine if assistance can be provided for costs beyond training tuition and supplies.
When Does Training Start?

Will I have to interview with the City of Amarillo?
We are working with partners, such as The City of Amarillo to provide employment opportunities for students upon completion of necessary training and licensure. Practice interviews for The City of Amarillo will be provided. Our team can potentially assist you in finding employment if you complete training and are unable to gain employment with one of our participating partners.
